Now let's look at the complex heating system. The heater is powered by the cooling water. If the cooling water is still cold, because the bus was not running, you should preheat the cooling water. For this purpose, please start the engine now and activate the supportive heater, whose switch is located directly to the right of the parking brake.

We enable the heating system today from a cooling water temperature of 65°C or more. However, the supportive heater takes a moment before it has started properly.

Once the cooling water has a temperature of 65°C, you can turn off the supportive heater again.

Look at the controls for the heater, which are located right under the instrument panel. There is no frost outside today, so you don't need to use the defroster (upper switch). Leave it off (position right). The left of the 4 levers adjusts the strength of your footwell ventilation. Set it at at least half power.

The red lever controls the temperature from cold (below) to warm (above). Please set it to warm. Please set the lever for the ventilation of the front (next one) to the top as well.

The right lever determines whether you want circulating air to be ventilated (below), unheated air directly from the outside (middle) or heated fresh air (above) into the car. Please provide a heated fresh air.

In addition, you have to set the control of the front fan. The wheel is right beside the gear selector switches. Please activate it by turning it in forward direction. The fans can now clearly be heard.

Last, please turn on the ventilation of the passenger compartment by using the toggle switch. The switch is located on the right hand behind the cash desk below the indoor thermometer.

If the indoor temperature has reached 19°C, please switch off the ventilation of the passenger compartment again and reduce the front fan to a minimum. Set the right lever to direct unheated air.

Finally, you can turn off the engine.
